The downtown area of St Johnsbury, VT is one large historic district. The primary focus is on the station, Depot Square and four other nearby buildings on railroad street. Most of the railroad yard and tracks are still serviced by the Vermont Rail System.
The depot was built in 1883 as a union station for three railroads that had come to the town and set it as a major transportation center.
